Melioidosis

What is Melioidosis?

A tropical infectious disease caused by the Gram-negative bacterium Burkholderia pseudomallei, which is present in soil and water in tropical countries. Melioidosis can present itself in many ways, including pneumonia, sepsis and abscess formation.
