What is Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder?

Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) was formerly known as Devic's Disease. It is a rare autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in the central nervous system (eye nerves, spinal cord, and brain). It is sometimes also called neuromyelitis optica or NMO.(1)
