What is AA Amyloidosis?

Secondary amyloidosis is a form of amyloidosis that complicates chronic inflammatory disorders (mainly rheumatoid arthritis). It is known for the aggregation and deposition of amyloid fibrils made of serum amyloid A protein. Although the spleen, suprarenal gland, liver and gut are often sites of amyloid deposition, kidney involvement is most common.
