Colonoscopy to rule out Mast Cell Activation Syndrome...

What exactly are they trying to find out from the results of Colonoscopy?

  1. were they able to rule out mast cell through your colonoscopy? Online I was reading that biopsies during a colonoscopy are used to help with diagnosis or exclusion and that "The first step is to determine if a patient is impacted by symptoms in at least two organ systems," one of which can include the GI system.

    1. I haven't got tested for diagnosis or exclusion of Mast Cell, I don't have health insurance, so it may be awhile before I can actually do so.

    2. That's disheartening I know. Have you reach out to NORD? If not they may be able to provide some assistance with testing, while in their search for assistance I couldn't find anything specific but I would encourage you to call them directly to discuss possible assistance. "NORD has provided assistance programs to help patients obtain life-saving or life-sustaining medication they could not otherwise afford. These programs provide medication, financial assistance with insurance premiums and co-pays, diagnostic testing assistance, and travel assistance for clinical trials or consultation with disease specialists". We aren't medical providers, but definitely hope to help patients in educating themselves along their healthcare journeys.
