Leg movement

2 years ago I started to develop a disorder in both my legs. Can't move properly. I'm 55 Can't run at all, trip up stairs n more things than I can list. Had more tests than I can count with no results. No one has a clue what's going on. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  1. Hi ,
Has your doctor provided a referral to a neurologist? They would be able to diagnose anything with a neuromuscular origin. It would be a good idea to journal if the weakness ebbs and flows, progresses, stays only in the lower body, whether you experience spasms, and anything else that might vary from your normal. Please stay in touch and let us know how you are doing. - Warmly, Donna (Team Member)

    1. That's a very interesting connection. Have you shared that pattern with your neurologist and/or primary care doc? I am a big proponent of keeping as many providers as possible in the loop, to help increase the possibility of s 'bell' going off....the only other thing that I can think of is perhaps some sort of allergy - meaning another type of specialist... perhaps even a reaction to alcohol or its by-products? Glad that Donna is in this thread with us...takes a village... Gina Miller, Team Member

    2. , wow you've been through the gamut! It is incredibly frustrating to have gone through all of that and not have any answers.

It's interesting that you noted that alcohol makes it worse. I wonder if there are any other food or even weather-related triggers? Have you noted intake and atmospheric conditions when you have a flare? - Warmly, Donna (Team Member)

  2. Hi Jake, Thank you for sharing. I'm sorry that you haven't been able to obtain a diagnosis for your symptoms. Have you discussed all of your options with your primary care physician, regarding what experts he or she might be able to refer you to? Also, if you haven't already read this article on our website, perhaps it might help with your journey to a diagnosis? : https://raredisease.net/diagnosis Wishing you continued determination and ultimately, success. 1. yes my pcp is in the loop, thanks. I haven't seen any corelation with foods or weather

    2. Glad to know your providers are being updated. Please let us know if they are able to solve this mystery for you. Take good care, Gina
