Sweet Syndrome

As I mentioned in my previous post, it took nearly 9 years to be diagnosed with Sweet Syndrome. I spent the first 7.5 years under dermatology care before being transferred to rheumatology/lupus. After over 200 blood tests, 250 clinical photos, and 2 biopsies, I finally received a diagnosis. Unfortunately, there is no cure—my treatment involves taking four 5 mg prednisone tablets, four times a day for three days, which eases the rash. This regimen shortens the rash duration from about six weeks to two weeks.

  1. I am glad you have something that helps, at least a bit, ! Predisone does come with some pretty hefty potential side effects. Are you noticing any side effects and, if so, how are you managing them?

  2. Oh my, , small blessings - while it is certainly preferable to six weeks, two-weeks isn't much of a bargain when you are uncomfortable and suffering. I'm glad that you at least have answers and a modicum of relief. - Warmly, Donna (Team Member)
