How Do You Manage Weight Changes When Living With a Chronic Health Condition?

Weight management can be difficult when you’re also dealing with a chronic health condition. Things like medication, activity levels, sleep, stress, appetite and even changes in daily routine can affect your weight.

I recently came across some information from MetaGO about why weight can sometimes remain unchanged despite diet and exercise. It mentioned factors such as water retention, changes in activity, muscle gain, sleep, stress and insulin resistance.

I’m curious how others in the rare disease community deal with weight changes. Do you mainly track your weight, or do you also look at things like waist measurements, energy levels, strength, sleep and overall health?

Has anything helped you understand your weight changes better?
